Description

The Department of Biology is one of the scientific departments of the Faculty of Education, Qasr Bin Ghashir, University of Tripoli. It was founded with the establishment of the Higher Institute for Teachers’ Preparation, Qasr Bin Ghashir in 2004. It accepts students from high school, basic sciences and life sciences. The number of students in it currently reaches about (180) students, and it strives to The department provides students with the latest science findings in the field of biology and trains them to use scientific research methods to develop research and solve problems related to science and its various branches.

Objectives

  • Preparing national cadres and scientific competencies necessary for the research and educational process.
  • Graduation of specialized scientific cadres in the field of biology and its various branches to meet the needs of the faculty, the corresponding faculties and specialized research centers in multiple fields covering all disciplines of biology.
  • Provide students with a sufficient amount of theoretical, practical and technical information available to enable them to work properly and soundly in their field of scientific specialization after graduation.
  • Contribute to the dissemination of real knowledge to serve the community and raise the efficiency of specialists in the field of biology through continuous training and qualification.
  • Conducting scientific studies and specialized research in various fields of biology, and exchanging experiences with the corresponding scientific and research bodies according to a well-thought-out plan.
  • To contribute positively to solving some of the problems facing society and its development in the field of competence of the department, with the participation of faculty members in some specialized committees and active participation in seminars and scientific conferences held at home and abroad.
  • Interest in studying some problems and phenomena related to the environment such as pollution, desertification and drought and finding ways to solve them.

Entry Reuirements

  • The student applying to study at the college must have a certificate of completion of general secondary school.
  • The student must comply with the regulations, instructions and regulations of the University in force during the study.
  • The applicant must have a good biography and behavior.
  • Be fit and healthy, able to follow theoretical and practical lectures.
  • The College accepts transfer students from other universities and colleges, according to the admission procedures determined by the scientific committee of the University, and in the specialties available at the college.
  • The transfer student is required to submit documents showing the subjects and courses he studied, the scientific content of each of them, the number of hours and units in each course, grades and estimates for them.
  • The student must submit all the required documents for admission to the registration and admission Department of the college.
  • The student has the right to study in the required Department, according to his scientific qualification in high school or specialized high schools and the controls and procedures established by the Ministry of higher education and scientific research.
  • If the student applying for admission meets all the previous conditions, the enrolled student will undergo an entrance exam and a personal interview decided by the College Department.
  • Admission is carried out according to the capacity specified by the faculty and according to the academic disciplines provided by the faculty.
