The Faculty of Engineering is the largest faculty at the University of Tripoli, and one of the most distinguished scientific associations that works effectively in qualifying specialized engineers who contribute to building society and the nation. The Faculty contains 14 scientific departments and run many study programs (22 at the undergraduate level, and 51 at the postgraduate level). The number of students in the faculty reaches 10,000 students. The Faculty also contains of many laboratories and workplaces in all scientific departments, in addition to two main libraries and some smaller libraries in some departments. 

The Office of Scientific Affairs at the Faculty of Engineering seeks to raise the educational process in line with the vision, mission and goals of the faculty, by developing future plans, strategies and policies to achieve quality and excellence that serve community issues. Establishing a culture of teaching and learning by creating a suitable environment for faculty members and students, and encouraging the establishment of various scientific activities represented in conferences, workshops, seminars and training courses that contribute to enriching scientific research and keeping up with development in various engineering sciences. In addition to linking the faculty with other faculties, local and international, by conducting joint studies that benefit and exchanging experiences, the faculty also seeks to communicate with public and private institutions, so that students research projects are directed to study real problems that the results of studies contribute in providing practical solutions.  The office is also keen to establish practical and recreational activities that contribute to serve community and the environment.
